Avenue Supermarts Limited announced earnings results for the third quarter ended December 31, 2019. For the third quarter, the company announced total revenue was INR 68,150 million compared to INR 54,820.8 million a year ago. Net income was INR 3,840.4 million compared to INR 2,472.5 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was INR 6.14 compared to INR 3.96 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was INR 6.09 compared to INR 3.91 a year ago. For the nine months, total revenue was INR 186,394.1 million compared to INR 149,779.8 million a year ago. Net income was INR 10,297.9 million compared to INR 7,109.5 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was INR 16.49 compared to INR 11.39 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was INR 16.37 compared to INR 11.23 a year ago.
Avenue Supermarts Limited is an India-based company, which is engaged in the business of organized retail and operating supermarkets under the D-Mart brand name. DMart is a supermarket chain that offers customers a range of products with a focus on the foods, non-foods fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and general merchandise and apparel product categories. Each DMart store stocks home utility products, including food, toiletries, beauty products, garments, kitchenware, bed and bath linen, home appliances and others.
