On Thursday, Alstom inaugurated a new high-power test bench for its Ornans industrial site in the Doubs region, which specializes in the design and manufacture of electric motors and alternators.

The rail equipment manufacturer says it has invested 1.4 million euros in this new 'ultra-modern' high-capacity facility, with a capacity of two megawatts.

In a press release, the group states that it has benefited from a 400.000 euros.

The test bench will enable the company to test and validate the capabilities of the electric motors designed and produced on the site, in particular with a view to improving their vibro-acoustic performance.

In addition to improving passenger acoustic comfort, the project aims to reduce train energy consumption and cut validation times by automating testing.
