German energy group RWE announced on Monday the launch of a project consisting of two wind farms to be located in the North Sea.

The power company states that the 'Nordseecluster' project will be installed 50 km north of the island of Juist, with a total capacity of 1.6 megawatts.

Construction will take place in two phases, with work on Nordseecluster A (660 MW) due to start in 2025, with commissioning of the 44 turbines scheduled for 2027.

Work on Nordseecluster B (900 MW) is scheduled to start in 2027, with commissioning of the remaining 60 turbines planned for early 2029
