Orange announced yesterday the completion of the merger between Orange Romania S.A. (ORO) and Orange Romania Communications S.A. (OROC) through the integration of OROC into ORO.

This merger will give rise to a fully convergent telecoms operator as of June 1, 2024.

The company consolidated as a result of the merger will enable Orange to pursue its objective of becoming the leading provider of fixed-mobile convergent services on the Romanian market in the residential and business segments.

This operation will also stimulate investment and competition in the Romanian telecommunications sector, with undeniable benefits for all citizens.

Following the merger, the Orange Group will hold 80% of the share capital and voting rights of the consolidated entity, while the Romanian Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization will hold the remaining 20%.
