Eurocash SA completed the acquisition of EKO Holding Spólka Akcyjna from Pelican Ventures Sp. Z.O.O.

Eurocash SA (WSE:EUR) signed a preliminary agreement to acquire EKO Holding Spólka Akcyjna from Pelican Ventures Sp. Z.O.O. on February 23, 2016. EKO Holding had generated sales of PLN 999 million in the year 2015. The deal is subject to certain terms and conditions, including consent from the President of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. As on December 13, 2016 Eurocash SA is facing some objections from anti-monopoly watchdog UOKiK regarding the acquisition of EKO Holding Spólka Akcyjna. Eurocash SA now has 14 days to address the objections. As of December 23, 2016, the transaction has been approved by anti-monopoly watchdog UOKiK. The transaction is expected to be complete on January 13, 2017. Piotr Wojtaszek of NBS Communications acted as public relations advisor to Eurocash.
