BAKU, July 15 (Reuters) - Oil exports via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline which runs from Azerbaijan through Georgia to Turkey were up 3.8% year-on-year in January-June 2024 at 15.025 million metric tons, Azerbaijan's state statistics committee said on Monday.

The BTC pipeline is used to export oil from the Azeri, Chirag and Guneshli oilfields, which are operated by BP.

Azerbaijan's total oil transit in January-June 2024 amounted to 19.6 million tons, of which 76.5% flowed through the BTC.

The volume of transit oil sourced from other countries such as Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan via the BTC fell to 2.455 million tons in January-June from 2.694 million tons in the same period of 2023, the data showed. (Reporting by Nailia Bagirova; Editing by Mark Trevelyan)
