BASF is offering the packaging industry a new solution for increasing the use of renewable raw materials by expanding its portfolio of certified compostable biopolymers.

This new 'ecoflex' BMB (biomass-balanced) packaging replaces fossil raw materials with renewable ones right from the start of the production process, reducing the carbon footprint by 60%.

This innovation supports the creation of a circular economy by promoting the collection and recycling of organic waste.

BASF specifies that customers will be able to adopt this solution without modifying their manufacturing processes, thus benefiting from equivalent performance while reducing their dependence on fossil resources.
