Business description: BASF SE

BASF SE is No. 1 worldwide in the chemical industry. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:

- functional products (40.5%): catalysts (32.7% of net sales), performance materials (25.9%), monomers (25.2%), and coatings (16.2%);

- high-performance materials (22.8%): dispersions and pigments (34.3% of net sales), care chemicals (31.9%), performance chemicals (20.5%) and nutrition products (13.3%);

- chemicals (16.6%): petrochemicals (74.3% of net sales), and intermediate products (25.7%);

- agrochemicals (15%);

- other (5.1%).

Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Germany (9.4%), Europe (28.6%), North America (27.2%), Asia/Pacific (24.9%) and South America/Africa/Middle East (9.9%).
