Unilever's Annual Results Seen as a Mixed Bag

1118 GMT - Shares in Unilever edge up 0.6% after the consumer-goods group reported higher annual sales, but said its underlying operating margin fell as costs rose. The results were a mixed bag, with some areas of concern as well as bright spots, financial-services firm eToro says. "There has been decent growth in turnover, but the operating profit and margin figures flatter a business showing signs of struggling in the current environment," eToro analyst Adam Vettese writes. "Inflation may be tipped to fall significantly this year, but household budgets will remain under pressure in many countries and so volumes may not recover until Unilever relaxes its pricing."
