One year after the sad and sudden passing of former Chairman Fabrizio Saccomanni, the UniCredit Foundation is launching three new scholarships in his honour for Ph.D's in economics. The three scholarships cover a 2-year period and are aimed at supporting European students of finance, international economics and monetary policies.

Further, as a sign of respect and tribute to Mr Saccomanni's contribution as Chairman of the bank, UniCredit is renaming the boardroom at the 29th floor of UniCredit Tower in Piazza Gae Aulenti as "Fabrizio Saccomanni Boardroom".

Cesare Bisoni, Chairman of UniCredit said: "Fabrizio Saccomanni's significant financial and international economics expertise brought tremendous value to the bank. Through these initiatives, we acknowledge and express our gratitude for his contribution during his time as Chairman of UniCredit. We will keep his memory alive by supporting the economics students in the countries where we operate".
