Aug 9 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 index is seen opening higher on Wednesday, with futures up 0.61%.

* BELLWAY: British housebuilder Bellway said it would build fewer homes in the current fiscal year and warned of further margin pressures as the housing sector battled a pronounced slowdown, spurred by high mortgage rates.

* HISCOX: Lloyd's of London insurer Hiscox posted

pretax profit

of $265 million in the first half, helped by rising premium rates, it said, a sharp increase from a profit of $25 million a year earlier.

* TP ICAP: TP ICAP reported a

higher half-yearly profit

after the world's biggest inter-dealer broker kept a tight lid on costs and as energy markets normalised.

* FlUTTER: Flutter's first-half

core earnings jumped

76% as its fast growing U.S. Fanduel brand turned a profit for the first time in a "transformation point" for the group's prospects, the world's largest online betting company said.

* TUI AG: Tour group TUI reported its

first post-pandemic

profit as it announced its Q3 figures on the back of robust bookings and travel demand.

* COCA COLA HBC: Bottler Coca-Cola HBC

beat half-year profit

expectations and lifted its annual revenue target, supported by strong sales and higher prices of its soft drinks. * WATER COMPANIES: Six British water companies are facing lawsuits valued at over 800 million pounds ($1.02 billion)brought on behalf of millions of customers for allegedly overcharging customers by under-reporting sewage discharges, a law firm said.

* INFLATION: The Bank of England will not succeed in returning inflation to its 2% target before 2028 at the earliest, according to forecasts from a leading academic think-tank.
