Terex Corporation announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was USD 1,038.7 million compared to USD 690.5 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 122.5 million compared to USD 7.4 million a year ago. Net income was USD 73.9 million compared to net loss of USD 9.2 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was USD 1.06 compared to basic loss per share of USD 0.13 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was USD 1.04 compared to diluted loss per share of USD 0.13 a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.04 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of USD 0.05 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.02 compared to diluted loss per share from continuing operations of USD 0.05 a year ago. For the half year, sales was USD 1,902.9 million compared to USD 1,524.1 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 184 million compared to USD 0.3 million a year ago. Net income was USD 114 million compared to net loss of USD 34.1 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was USD 1.64 compared to basic loss per share of USD 0.49 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was USD 1.61 compared to diluted loss per share of USD 0.49 a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.61 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of USD 0.4 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.58 compared to diluted loss per share from continuing operations of USD 0.4 a year ago.
Terex Corporation is focused on manufacturing of materials processing machinery and aerial work platforms. The Company designs, builds and supports products used in maintenance, manufacturing, energy, recycling, minerals and materials management, and construction applications. The Companyâs segments include Materials Processing (MP) and Aerial Work Platforms (AWP). The MP segment designs, manufactures, services and markets materials processing and specialty equipment, including crushers, washing systems, screens, trommels, apron feeders, material handlers, pick and carry cranes, rough terrain cranes, tower cranes, wood processing, biomass and recycling equipment, concrete mixer trucks and concrete pavers, conveyors, and their related components and replacement parts. The AWP segment designs, manufactures, services and markets aerial work platform equipment, utility equipment and telehandlers. It markets aerial work platform products principally under the Terex and Genie brand names.
