GM-AVTOVAZ JV and Peugeot Citroen Automobiles signed a license agreement providing for the JV a right to equip the Next Generation Chevrolet NIVA cars with PSA Peugeot Citroen EC8 gasoline engine (1.8 liter, 135 hp with the torque of 170 Nm). Similar engines are used for several Peugeot and Citroen models since March 2013. Production of PSA EC8 engines will be localized in the SEZ 'Togliatti', Samara region.
The project will be implemented by LLC AZ Powertrain.
