The tech enterprise Rheinmetall has received an important new order for engine components from a well-known, globally operating vehicle maker.

KEY FACTS

* Rheinmetall wins order from international vehicle maker

* Contract worth a figure in the lower-two-digit millioneuro range

* Rocker arms boost engine efficiency and cut fuel consumption

* Outstanding service made the difference

The parts ordered are rocker arm bushings for use in different engine variants in the heavy transport segment. The order is worth a figure in the lower-two-digit million-euro range.

Rheinmetall serves the customer as a Tier 1 supplier. Through to 2030, the customer will take delivery of several million components annually. This order builds on the Group's existing successful business ties to the customer. It came about thanks to Rheinmetall's strong service orientation and the speed and flexibility of the Group in meeting individual customer needs. The special engine components of the rocker arms assure precise, low-friction regulation of the engine's inlet and outlet valves. This can increase the cylinder charge, resulting in turn in heightened engine performance. The engine operates more efficiently this way, while simultaneously reducing fuel consumption. The component lends itself especially well to applications in the heavy transport segment with high and very rpm rates.

Rheinmetall numbers among the world's foremost manufacturers and partners in the development and production of system components for the basic engine. Winning this order highlights once again the Group's expertise as a competent partner of the global automotive industry, and not just for modern e-vehicles but for conventionally powered vehicles as well. Rheinmetall's 'last man standing' strategy, under which the Group seeks to exploit the remaining sales potential in the internal combustion engine domain, has paid off once again with this order. Winning the request for tenders not only optimizes the utilization of existing capacity. It also contributes appreciably to this part of the Group's total sales.
