Farewell to Roberto Colaninno, chairman of Piaggio and Immsi

(Alliance News) - Piaggio & Co. Spa and Immsi Spa have announced the passing of their chairman, Roberto Colaninno.

Just 80 years old, Colaninno, after his beginnings in 1969 and a career at Olivetti, kick-started the rise at Telecom Italia Spa in 1999 and the relaunch of Piaggio, of which he was also chief executive officer.

All of Italian business remembered Colaninno in recent hours. Carlo De Benedetti said, "Italy loses a great entrepreneur, he had a capacity for work, courage and optimism that is much needed for this country."
