(Alliance News) - Hercules Site Services PLC on Wednesday said it has secured new contracts worth GBP5.8 million for waste water treatment and management projects in England.

The Cirencester, England-based labour supply company for the UK infrastructure sector said it was awarded GBP3.8 million from Thames Water Utilities Ltd for work across six of its sites. The largest contract from Thames Water, worth GBP2.2 million, is for sewage treatment works in Crawley, southern England.

In addition, Hercules was awarded GBP2.0 million from Anglian Water Services Ltd across two sites, of which GBP1.3 million is for a water pumping station in Etton, near Peterborough, England.

Construction Director Paul Field said: "These further wins are testament to our strong position as a trusted supplier to the UK water industry and build on the contracts previously announced in September with these two important clients.

"The UK water industry has pledged to invest GBP10 billion to provide a cleaner, safer infrastructure network, and Hercules is well placed to help deliver on this given our expertise in the space."

Shares in Hercules were up 5.9% at 25.95 pence each in London on Wednesday morning.
