Haverty Furniture Companies, Inc. announced unaudited sales results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2016. For the fourth quarter 2016, the company’s sales increased 2.2% to $220.6 million, compared with $215.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2015. On a comparable store basis, sales for the quarter rose 2.5%. Comparable store sales do not include locations opened, closed or otherwise non-comparable during the last twelve months. Total written sales for the fourth quarter of 2016 increased 5.3% and written comparable store sales rose 5.2% over the same period last year.
For the twelve months of 2016, the company’s sales totaled was $821.6 million, compared with $804.9 million in 2015, representing an increase of 2.1%. On a comparable store basis, sales increased 2.1% for the twelve months.
