NORTHVILLE, Mich. and HOUSTON, Jan. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Gentherm (NASDAQ-GS: THRM), the global market leader and developer of innovative thermal management technologies, today announced that it opened a new office in The Woodlands community of Houston to house the Bedding Division of the Company'sTechnologies Group, and the U.S. office of Gentherm Global Power Technologies (GPT), the new name for the division that includes Global Thermoelectric, a subsidiary company based in Calgary that was purchased in April of 2014.  

Josh Micklos, a former national account executive for Tempur Sealy Inc., has been named General Manager, National Accounts, of Gentherm's newly created Bedding Division. He reports directly to Gentherm Technologies Vice President Dan Pace. Stephen Palmer, a veteran sales executive in the U.S. oil and gas market, was named Director, U.S. Sales, of GPT, the world's leader in industrial thermoelectric generator systems and remote power generation. Palmer reports directly to GPT's Vice President, Sales Gary Forbes.

Coker added that GPT is providing Gentherm access to new industrial and commercial markets and looks forward to working with Palmer.

"Global Thermoelectric's business has traditionally been in the gas and oil pipelines industry but we are also targeting some industrial applications outside oil and gas and mobile power systems, which will be a key market for us," Coker said. "Stephen has proven he can develop and lead sales teams in the oil and gas market, as well as drive revenue growth.

Micklos spent the past 12 years working for Houston-based Sealy Inc., which recently became Tempur Sealy Inc., and was named Vice President of National Accounts in 2013. From 2007-2013 he was Director of National Accounts for Sealy Inc. Prior to that he was Senior Key Account Manager and National Accounts Territory Manager for Sealy Inc. Earlier in his career, from 1999-2002, he was a City Manager for Mattress Firm, Gentherm's business partner in the Mattress Division.

Palmer has built and managed successful sales teams in four different countries. He spent the past 20 years working as a senior sales leadership executive for companies including Deutsch Offshore Group, GBA Corona and Hydration Inc. Previously, he worked in the offshore oil business in the North Sea.

The new Houston office will be located at 8505 Technology Forest Place, Suites 902-903.
