EssilorLuxottica reported a 5.5% increase in first-quarter sales on Thursday, driven by strong growth across all distribution channels and categories in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region.

Sales for the maker of Oakley and Ray-Ban sunglasses totaled 6.34 billion euros in the first three months of the year, up from 6.15 billion euros a year ago.

"The best-performing regions were EMEA, Asia-Pacific and Latin America, while North America recorded growth in the low single digits, due in particular to a high two-year comparison base," the group said in a statement.

EssilorLuxottica also confirmed its annual sales growth target of around 5% between 2022 and 2026 at constant exchange rates. The Group is also targeting adjusted operating income in the range of 19-20% of sales at the end of this period. (Written by Augustin Turpin, edited by Kate Entringer)
