Its Active Electrode Monitoring (AEM) technology provides surgeons with the desired tissue effects of cutting and coagulating tissue in laparoscopic procedures, while preventing stray electrosurgical energy that can cause tissue injury that may result in death. The AEM system consists of shielded 5mm AEM Instruments and an AEM monitor. Laparoscopic instruments have the integrated AEM design and include the full range of instruments that are common in laparoscopic surgery. The AEM monitor is compatible with electrosurgical generators.
