Eisai Co., Ltd.

Notification Regarding Revision of

"Eisai Global Code of Conduct for Business Partners"

In order to realize our corporate concept, the Eisai group implements all procurement activities in accordance with the "Eisai Global Procurement Standard". This standard outlines the items that must be complied with to ensure the procurement of goods and services that meet the required quality in a stable and timely manner and at optimal prices through fair , equitable, and transparent business transactions based on trust with our business partners. Under this standard, the Eisai group has established a "Code of Conduct for Business Partners" (Code). The Code sets forth our expectations for our business partners, particularly suppliers, in relation to legal and regulatory compliance, ethics, human rights, health and safety, environment, and related management systems.

This Code is based on the principles developed by the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI), a non-profit business membership organization established to promote sustainable procurement in the pharmaceutical industryʼs supply chain. Eisai has been participating PSCI since 2021. The PSCI Principles also complies with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The update to the Code this time is based on the revisions made to the PSCI Principles in May 2023, which were aimed at enhancing supply chain sustainability.

The new Code introduced provisions related to human rights, which include the establishment of a grievance mechanism and respect for the rights of local communities. It also added provisions related to environmental concerns, such as addressing climate change and preserving biodiversity.

The Eisai group has promoted sustainable procurement with the goal of enhancing the corporate value of both our business partners and our group itself through explanations and dialogues to ensure compliance of the Code and its continuous improvement.
