Huanghua Port's Achievements in Green Development Included in WWF's Case Book

The case of Building a Smart, Environmentally Friendly and Green Port by China Energy Huanghua Harbour Administration Corp. (Ltd.) was included in the New Deal for People and Nature - Case Book on Business Actions in Biodiversity in China recently released by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It marked that Huanghua Port's achievements in green development have been highly recognized by society.

The case details Huanghua Port's experience in preserving biodiversity and its achievements in green development. Over recent years, the company has been devoting great energy to preserving biodiversity. It took a myriad of measures for green and sustainable development of the port, including afforesting saline-alkali soil, building a water ecosystem featuring two lakes and three wetland areas, putting fries, and larvae in the Bohai Bay to restore its biocoenosis, building habitats for wild animals, and reusing dredged materials. The port has been working to reduce pollution and carbon emissions, applying achievements in building a green port, including the long-term dust suppression technology, cleaning device for belt conveyors, and yard water charging system. Huanghua Port was recognized as China's first 3A industrial tourist destination, and acclaimed the title of APSN Green Ports. It won honors including the Chinese Environment Award and the 5-Star Green Port. The port has provided experience in building a green energy port and made contributions to biodiversity conservation.
