Carrefour is down nearly 6% and is the red lantern of the CAC40, confirming that it has received notification of the intervention of the French Ministry of the Economy in a dispute initiated by the Association des Franchisés Carrefour.

The retail group 'vigorously contests the grievances of the Ministry of the Economy relating to the management of its franchise network, as well as the totally disproportionate nature of the fine, which can only be decided by the court to which the case is referred'.

Believing that Bercy 'does not bring any new element on the merits', Carrefour is 'totally confident in its ability to demonstrate the perfect validity of its contracts as well as the balance of its relationship with its partners'.
