- Max Jadot will succeed Herman Daems as Chairman of the Board of Directors of BNP Paribas Fortis as of 1st January 2023.
- On the same date, Michael Anseeuw will become CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of BNP Paribas Fortis, succeeding Max Jadot. Michael Anseeuw will join the Group Executive Committee.

Today, the Board of Directors of BNP Paribas Fortis has taken the following decisions:
- Max Jadot will succeed Herman Daems as Chairman of the Board of Directors of BNP Paribas Fortis. Max Jadot is CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of BNP Paribas Fortis as well as member of the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Group since 2011.
- Michael Anseeuw will succeed Max Jadot as CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of BNP Paribas Fortis. As a result, he will join the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Group. Since 2014, he is Head of Retail Banking of BNP Paribas Fortis and joined the Executive Board and the Board of Directors in 2015. In his new role, he will report to Thierry Laborde, Chief Operating Officer, BNP Paribas Group, Head of Commercial, Personal Banking & Services.

Having received the approvals from the regulatory body, these decisions will be effective from 1st January 2023.
The Board of Directors of BNP Paribas Fortis has also decided to confer the title of Honorary Chairman to Herman Daems who is stepping down as Director.

Biographies

MAX JADOT
Max Jadot, who holds a Master's degree in Law from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) and a Master's degree in Comparative Law from the University of Georgetown (Washington DC, USA), started his career in 1984 as a Branch Manager at the Générale de Banque. From 1986 to 1996, he served successively as manager and supervisor of commercial business in several geographical areas. In 1998, he was appointed Managing Director of Corporate Finance/Capital Markets at Fortis Bank, before being named Chairman of the Executive Board of Fortis Bank France in 2007. He joined the BNP Paribas Fortis Executive Board in 2009 as Head of Corporate & Public Banking in Belgium and in 2011 became CEO and Executive Director of BNP Paribas Fortis.

MICHAEL ANSEEUW
Michael Anseeuw, who holds a degree in physics and civil engineering from the University of Ghent (Belgium), started his career in 1996 as a consultant with the Accenture group. In 2000, he co-founded and took over the online consulting firm Smartizens.com, before joining Fortis in 2001. In 2006, he was appointed CFO of Fortis Consumer Finance Group, before taking over the Strategy and Business Development of Fortis Retail Banking in 2007. Since 2014, he has been Head of Retail Banking at BNP Paribas Fortis, joining the bank's Executive Board in 2015. He is also Executive Director.
