AVIVA is to expand into Indonesia, through a new joint venture with an arm of Jardine Matheson. The company has signed a deal with Astra International to sell and distribute life insurance products in the country. Entering Indonesia through a joint venture allows Aviva to gain exposure to a growing market at relatively little expense, at the same time as benefiting from Astra's brand.
