U.S. Futures and European Stocks Slightly Down

U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.3% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.3%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 declined 0.6% in morning trading. HelloFresh added 12.5% and Teleperformance rose 3.9%. On the other hand, Sodexo lost 4.6%, and Michelin slipped 4.3%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.5%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France's CAC 40 decreased 0.8% and Germany's DAX dropped 0.5%.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index climbed 0.2% to 100.75.

In commodities, Brent crude gained 0.1% to $86.71 a barrel, and WTI crude climbed 0.1% to $83.43 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was down 0.6% to EUR33.28 a megawatt hour.

The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 1 basis point to 2.594% from 2.608%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury fell by 1 basis point to 4.456% from 4.467%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were up as Japan's Nikkei 225 index climbed 1.1%, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng climbed 0.4%. China's benchmark Shanghai Composite climbed 0.1%.
