Vivendi subsidiary Canal+ announced on Thursday that it had increased its stake in Asian streaming service Viu to 36.8%, in line with the agreement reached with Hong Kong's PCCW last year.

In a press release, Canal+ reiterates that it considers the Asian market to be one of its main growth vectors, and renews its confidence in Viu and its management team.

Its stake stood at 30% last February.

The transaction announced today is part of a $300 million phased investment, at the end of which the Canal+ Group will have an option to increase its stake in Viu to 51%.
