Vinci has announced the launch of work on the future dam to be built by VINCI Construction Grands Projets and VINCI Construction Terrassement Grands Projets, which will generate renewable energy and irrigate 90,000 ha of farmland downstream, near Kédougou in southern Senegal.

The 108 m high dam, with a capacity of 4 billion m3, will have an installed capacity of 128 MW.

Preparatory work began at the end of September, paving the way for four years of construction. 1200 people will be mobilized at peak activity.
