Vale discloses communication from a candidate

Rio de Janeiro, March 29, 2023 - Vale S.A. ('Vale' or 'Company') discloses a letter received from the candidate for member of the Board of Directors appointed by the Company, Mr. Luis Henrique Cals de Beauclair Guimarães, with the confirmation of his resignation with immediate effect from the positions he occupied on the Boards of Directors of the following companies: (i) Companhia de Gás de São Paulo - Comgás, (ii) Compass Gás e Energia S.A. and (iii) Plano & Plano Desenvolvimento Imobiliário S.A. The executive continues as a member of the Board of Directors of the companies Cosan and Raízen and as Cosan's Chief Executive Officer. The communication accompanies this notice and will be included in the materials related to Vale's upcoming General Meetings of Shareholders in the appropriate form and terms.
