OMAHA, NEB -Union Pacific Railroad's women-empowering Employee Resource Group - LEAD - is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a full-day conference, featuring appearances from some of the nation's top women executives.

Tamika L. Tremaglio, Executive Director of the National Basketball Players Association, will be the keynote speaker and Missy Pearlman, General Manager of Toyota North America, will talk about the importance of being bold in the workplace.

The conference will be held Oct. 3 in Bellevue, Nebraska, and is open only to LEAD members.

Union Pacific's LEAD was founded in 2003 to empower and foster opportunities for women. It stands for: Lead. Educate. Achieve. Develop. One of its founding members is Union Pacific President Beth Whited, the first woman to hold that position in the company's 161-year history. She served as LEAD's second president.

Whited is scheduled to speak at the conference, along with Union Pacific Chief Executive Officer Jim Vena and Union Pacific Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Hamann.

The theme of this year's conference is 'Be Bold & Lead,' which will be the focus of a panel discussion that will include:

Carolyn Lee, President and Executive Director of the Manufacturing Institute

Dr. Joanne Li, Chancellor of University of Nebraska at Omaha

Aileen Warren, President and CEO of ICAN

Ada Walker, Vice President-Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer for Nebraska Medicine

Joni Wheeler, Executive Vice President of Talent and Enterprise Solutions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska
