Tigerair Taiwan announced that it will start offering flights connecting Taiwan with two more airports in Japan in late January, using Airbus SAS' A320 aircraft. Starting on January 28, 2016, the company will operate five round-trip flights per week between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport near Taipei, northern Taiwan, and Fukuoka Airport in the southwestern Japan city of Fukuoka. From January 29, 2016, the company will offer one round-trip flight every day between the Taoyuan airport and Central Japan International Airport in Aichi Prefecture, better known as Centrair.

The company is already scheduled to open its route linking Taoyuan and Tokyo International Airport at Haneda. The number of routes between Japan and Taiwan will thus increase to eight. Of the five existing routes, two are between Narita International Airport near Tokyo and Taoyuan or Kaohsiung International Airport in southern Taiwan, two between Kansai International Airport in Osaka Prefecture, western Japan, and Taoyuan or Kaohsiung, and one between Naha Airport in the southernmost Japan prefecture of Okinawa and Taoyuan.
