France will supply 12 additional Caesar cannons to Ukraine to counter the Russian invasion, Armed Forces Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced on Tuesday.

"They will be financed under the 200 million euro support fund that was opened by Parliament," Sébastien Lecornu said at a press conference in Paris with his Ukrainian counterpart, Oleksi Reznikov.

"If these 12 Caesars are possible, it's because Nexter (their manufacturer, editor's note) is increasing its production capacity", added the Minister of the Armed Forces.

Last year, France supplied Ukraine, which will be invaded by Russian forces in February 2022, with 18 Caesar guns manufactured by the French group.

Sébastien Lecornu also declared that 150 French military personnel would travel to Poland at the end of February for training missions, with the aim of training 600 Ukrainian soldiers per month. He also announced that the support fund set up last November would be purchasing a GM200 detection radar for Ukraine from Thales.

Oleksi Reznikov "came to detail Ukraine's needs, of which aviation is one", continued Sébastien Lecornu, reaffirming, like Emmanuel
