Tesla's fourth-quarter production and deliveries accelerated, topping Wall Street analysts expectations, after a production lull in the third quarter due to planned downtime.

The Elon Musk-helmed EV maker reported fourth-quarter deliveries of nearly 485,000 and production of about 495,000. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected deliveries of about 473,000.

In the fourth quarter of 2022, Tesla delivered about 405,000 vehicles and produced nearly 440,000.

The quarterly readout also marks a reacceleration in production and deliveries after planned downtime caused a sequential slowdown in the third quarter.

For 2023, Tesla produced more than 1.8 million units, above its previously issued target.
