Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. (NYSE:TDS) is seeking acquisitions. Jane McCahon, Senior Vice President of Corporate Relations & Corporate Secretary said, "We are excited about the cable market and we will continue to look for acquisitions there. And at the TDS level we continue to talk to capital allocation strategy that involves both investing back in the business primarily through the cable acquisitions we talked about as well as returning money to shareholders through both our regular dividend which we increased now for I believe 42 years in a row, obviously very committed to that as well as share repurchase and I think with our lack of activity in the cable space over the last couple of years you have also seen lower activity in terms of buybacks and those I think people should think of going hand in hand. Right now I think we are pretty comfortable with our leverage position. I think for the right acquisitions there is more room but it would have to be for the right deal."
