Pupils plant trees for World Nature Conservation Day

Date: Wednesday 29 July 2015

Our Manchester team has partnered with Little Weavers Day Nursery in Northwich and Ribblesdale Nursery School and Children's Centre in Clitheroe for a tree planting initiative at our Winnington Village and Ribble Meadows developments.

The initiative was carried out in line with World Nature Conservation Day, which took place on 28th July 2015, and is a worldwide event in aid of raising awareness of wildlife preservation and protecting the natural environment.

Natasha Kirkwood, manager at Little Weavers Day Nursery, comments: "We're thrilled to be working with Taylor Wimpey on this exciting initiative - and for such a good cause.

"We know how important it is to teach our children the importance of protecting the environment from a young age, making the tree planting activity perfect."

Sue Allan, head teacher at Ribblesdale Nursery School and Children's Centre, adds: "This also fits in very well with our Forest School initiative, which all of our nursery school children have the opportunity to be involved in during their time at school."

Little Weavers Day Nursery was established in 2012 and serves Northwich and its surrounding areas. The nursery is Ofsted-rated 'good', and offers both part and full-time care for children up to the age of five.

Ribblesdale Nursery School and Children's Centre provides a number of services for families in Clitheroe, including family activities, day care for toddlers, aged two to five years old, and a maintained nursery school with Early Years teachers.

Chloe Dunn, Associate Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, comments: "Protecting the environment is at the forefront of our ethos and this is something we were keen to educate the children of Northwich and Clitheroe about.

"The tree planting exercise with Little Weavers and Ribblesdale Nursery School was a lot of fun, and we're glad that the groups enjoyed the experience."Natasha concludes: "It's been great working with Taylor Wimpey on such a worthwhile cause, and we hope to partner with the company again in the future."

There's currently a superb selection of three and four-bedroom properties available to reserve at Ribble Meadows, while Winnington Village also offers a range of three and four-bedroom designs.
