SpiceJet Limited reported unaudited standalone earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2015. For the quarter, net sales/income from operations was INR 14,393.83 million against INR 12,976.92 million last year. Profit from operations before other income, finance costs and extra ordinary items was INR 2,491.99 million against loss from operations before other income, finance costs and extra ordinary items of INR 2,389.96 million last year. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 2,383.96 million against loss from ordinary activities before tax of INR 2,750.25 million last year. Net profit was INR 2,383.96 million or INR 3.22 per diluted share before and after extraordinary items against net loss of INR 2,750.25 million or INR 4.84 per basic and diluted share before and after extraordinary items last year. On an EBITDA basis, SpiceJet reported a profit of INR 2,922.4 million against loss of INR 1,949.7 million in the same quarter last year. On an EBITDAR basis, the company reported a profit of INR 5,199.6 million against a profit of INR 201.4 million in the same quarter last year. These results also reflect one-time expense of INR 264 million, and other income of INR 16 million.

For the nine months, net sales/income from operations was INR 35,717.33 million against INR 43,901.67 million last year. Profit from operations before other income, finance costs and extra ordinary items was INR 2,986.73 million against loss from operations before other income, finance costs and extra ordinary items of INR 6,300.32 million last year. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 3,340.14 million against loss from ordinary activities before tax of INR 7,095.76 million last year. Net profit was INR 3,340.14 million or INR 4.51 per diluted share before and after extraordinary items against net loss of INR 7,095.76 million or INR 12.98 per basic and diluted share before and after extraordinary items last year.

For the quarter, capacity (in terms of available seat kilometers) dropped by 3% against last year. Operating revenue per ASKM has increased to 4.25 from 3.72 same quarter last year, registering a growth of 14%. The company recorded a load factor of 91.6% for the quarter. This load factor reflects an increase of 8% over the same period last year.
