Societe Generale Group announces that it has completed the legal merger of its two retail banking networks in France, Societe Generale and Crédit du Nord Group, on January 1, 2023. SG is now the Group's new retail bank in France.

According to the Group, this merger goes hand in hand with the implementation of a new relationship model, 'designed to improve the quality of service provided to individual, professional and business customers'.

The IT migrations of Crédit du Nord Group banks to Societe Generale's information system will take place in two stages in the first half of 2023.

Branch mergers will begin in the second half of 2023, with a first stage of 150 mergers (30%). 80% of the regroupings will be completed by the end of 2024, and 100% by the end of 2025, the Group assures.

The new SG brand will be gradually deployed on the fronts of our branches, with a first stage of 1,000 branches concerned by the end of 2023', says the bank.
