SingTel names Bill Chang as CEO Group ICT to lead efforts in enterprise space

Singapore, 16 July 2012 - Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) today named Mr Bill Chang as CEO Group ICT, leading the Group's enterprise business. His appointment, effective today, is the result of an extensive global search, both within the Group and externally. 

The SingTel Group announced a new organisational structure in March 2012 which took effect on 1 April 2012. The structure comprises three customer units - Group Consumer led by Mr Paul O'Sullivan, Group Digital L!fe led by Mr Allen Lew and Group ICT led by Mr Chang. The three CEOs report to Group CEO, Ms Chua Sock Koong. 

Group ICT will focus its efforts on empowering businesses with the latest technologies and an extensive suite of enterprise-focused products and services. 

Mr Chang's previous position was Managing Director of Business Group, Group ICT. He joined SingTel in 2005 as Executive Vice President, Business Group responsible for extending SingTel's lead in the enterprise customer segment. Under him, SingTel's Business Group has enhanced its position as a leader in ICT, managed services and cloud computing. Prior to joining SingTel, he held multiple leadership roles at Cisco Systems (USA) Pte Ltd.

Ms Chua said: "The SingTel Group is entering a new chapter in its history.  Our new structure will enhance our ability to capture emerging opportunities in a rapidly changing industry. Group ICT brings together our enterprise-related business units to better maximise economies of scale and create compelling services and solutions for customers. Bill has a proven track record and I am confident he will further build on the team's innovation efforts and expansion across the region."

Mr Chang is CEO Group ICT and responsible for providing ICT solutions to serve the Group's enterprise customers, offering innovative and comprehensive IT and telecommunications solutions across multiple geographies. He assumed this position 16 July 2012. 

Previously he was Managing Director, Business Group, Group ICT, which serves domestic and global corporate customers with a full range of ICT services. He joined SingTel in 2005 as Executive Vice President of Corporate Business.

He is the Chairman of the Singapore Polytechnic Board of Governors and a Board Member of SingPost, serving in their Compensation and Technology Committees. Mr Chang served on the Board of Workforce Development Agency (WDA) for six years until 2011, where he was Chairman of the Incentives and Grants Committee of the WDA Board. For his contributions to Singapore's workforce development, he received the National Day Public Service Medal in 2007. 

Before joining SingTel, he was the Managing Director of CISCO Systems' Advanced Services Group in Asia Pacific responsible for its operations in 13 regional countries. 

Mr Chang graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering from Monash University in 1990.
