Siemens announced that it has received wind turbine orders for two onshore projects in Ireland with a combined capacity of 172 MW. The company will supply 36 SWT-3.0-101 turbines for the Cloosh Valley wind farm, which is also known as Galway Wind Park Phase 2. The 108-MW project is part of SSE Renewables' development of a wind farm cluster near Rosscahill, County Galway. Phase 1 of Galway Wind Park, which will use 22 turbines of the same type, is currently under construction.

The Cloosh wind farm, a co-development with Coillte, is scheduled for commissioning in the middle of 2017. The second order is for 20 SWT-3.2-101 turbines that will equip the Irish Sliabh Bawn wind farm in County Roscommon. It comes from Bord na Mona and Coillte.

The 64-MW wind farm is due to be commissioned in early 2017. Both contracts include 15-year service agreements.
