(Alliance News) - Good session peer the automotive sector in Piazza Affari, with the segment marking a green of 2.3%.

Stellantis advances 3.5%to EUR17.13, bringing its assets on a weekly basis to 8%.

Pirelli, meanwhile, advances 2.4 percent to EUR4.93. As Francesco Bonazzi writes in Alliance News, "Marco Tronchetti Provera and his Camfin are preparing for a Pirelli without the Chinese, even though Sinochem and Silk Road Fund have so far denied a disengagement on their part. And the market, while not believing in an immediate merger between Pirelli and Brembo, is rewarding both stocks after the news of the consultation pact."

"The capitalization of the two groups is EUR4.95 billion and EUR5 billion, respectively. Surprisingly aligned values that have fueled some new speculation of a merger between the tire king and the international brake systems giant, both belonging to the luxury segment."

"In reality, beyond the firm alliance between the Bombassei family and Marco Tronchetti Provera's family, industrial synergies between the two groups would be few," reasons an investment banker. This does not detract from the fact that the alliance is clearly set to strengthen financially.

Brembo, on the other hand, gives up 2 percent, although on the weekly the company marks a green of about 8 percent.
