Peugeot SA has fulfilled all carbon-dioxide emission targets imposed on it by the European Commission, according to Carlos Tavares, chairman of the French auto maker's management board.

"We have naturally respected all targets set by the European Union," Mr. Tavares said during Monday's special meeting of Peugeot shareholders with double voting rights, which was held to approve a merger with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV.

The EU's Corporate Average Fuel Economy regulations require European auto makers to ensure an average CO2-emissions level of 95 grams per kilometer for 95% of their vehicles.
