Milpo appointed former Vale executive Ricardo Galvão as CEO, consolidating the Brazilian parent company's control over the Peruvian zinc-lead-silver producer. Galvão replaces Tito Martins, who had headed Milpo since January. Martins heads Nexa, formerly Votorantim Metais Holdings, which raised USD 72 million from an IPO in October. Galvão, who also worked at ExxonMobil and Brazilian oil company Grupo Bravante before serving as commercial VP at Votorantim, will be responsible for developing Milpo's Magistral and Pukaqaqa copper projects, the Aripuanã zinc project in Brazil and the Shalipayco zinc project in Peru.
