Marcus & Millichap Announces the Sale of Old Town Self Storage in North Carolina

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina, March 8, 2023 - Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services of North Carolina, Inc. (NYSE: MMI), a leading commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in investment sales, financing, research and advisory services, announced today the sale of Old Town Self Storage, a 7,200-square-foot self-storage facility located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Gabriel Coe, Brett R. Hatcher and Nathan Coe, investment specialists in Marcus & Millichap's Columbus office, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a limited liability company. Ben Yelm, North Carolina Broker of Record, assisted in closing this transaction.
"This was sold to an out-of-state first time buyer on a 1031 exchange," said Gabriel Coe, the lead agent involved. "The buyer will benefit by building and quadrupling the property size with the room to expand and a very strong location."
Old Town Self Storage is located less than three miles away from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The facility was built in 1995, was expanded in 1996, and added climate-controlled units in 2022 to go with the 75 non-climate-controlled units and 40 outdoor parking spaces that were previously available.
