We are very excited to announce that our bid to take part in the Kickstart Scheme has been successful, particularly rewarding as Covid has had a disproportionate impact on young people.

The Government led scheme provides funding to support young people, aged 16-24, into 6-month work placements, working 25 hours per week.

Between February and December 2021 we will welcome 75 Kickstart employees in to our business in varying roles. This brings many benefits to United Living, it's a great initiative on social value and inclusion - enabling those facing some of the greatest challenges to gain exposure to work; creating a diverse workforce and actively promoting our industry to young people as well as securing valuable additional resource.

The 75 placements will mean we can offer over 46,000 hours of paid work experience during this period. We are also committed to providing additional support for these young people through employability sessions working with our social value colleagues, helping to give them the very best chance of securing permanent positions in the future.

If you know somebody who is actively seeking work, is 16-24 and signed on at a job centre and is interested in new homes, infrastructure, property services or support services, please ask them to contact our HR Team or their local Job Centre.

Neil Armstrong, CEO and Chairman at United Living Group, said: 'The Kickstart Scheme provides a major boost to our Industry and at a time when it has been particularly challenging for 16-24 years to step in to the world of work. We are pleased to support 75 unemployed young people in to work. As a responsible employer this initiative sits at the very heart of our values as we are passionate about nurturing talent for the future. '
