Hipermarc SA is a Chile-based holding company principally engaged in the retail sector. The Company’s main activities include the operation of a network of supermarkets under the Unimarc name, as well as it is involved in the promotion and development of commercial properties. The Company holds majority stakes in such subsidiaries as Transportes Santa Maria SA, which provides transportation services; Interagro Comercio y Ganado SA and Interagro SA, which are involved in the production and commercialization of agricultural products; Publicidad y Promociones SA, which provides advertising services, and Inmobiliaria de Supermercados SA, active in the real estate sector. As of December 31, 2011, Salmones de Chile SA was the Company’s major shareholder with 44.88% of its interest.
