Edegel announced earnings results for the first half of 2016. EBITDA was PEN 492 million compared with PEN 450 million in the first half of 2015, an increase of 9.3%. This increase is mainly attributable to higher energy sales due to new contracts signed with customers in the free market and distribution companies, although competition in the sector has reduced the margins on contracts. Net income was PEN 261 million compared with PEN 238 million in the first half of 2015, an increase of 9.6%. This was mainly attributable to the better result at EBITDA level. As on date, the company's net debt was PEN 496 million.
