Comtrend announced the expansion of its WiFi 6 gateway lineup to support a diverse selection of deployment scenarios for Service Providers. Comtrend's growing lineup of telco-grade WiFi 6 gateways will include A/VDSL, A/VDSL Bonded, and Fiber-Ready Ethernet gateway options, making it one of the large offerings within the market. The new WiFi 6 standard significantly improves the way wireless networks operate by adding increased efficiency, capacity, security, and performance. A new feature of WiFi 6 called orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) enables multiple users with differing bandwidth needs to be served simultaneously. This means that the subscriber will notice more of their devices connecting at faster speeds and with greater stability, even when running multiple high-bandwidth applications concurrently. Unlike retail versions of WiFi 6 products, Comtrend's gateways support the industry-embraced TR-069 standard that allows Service Providers to remotely manage their customer's networks. Additionally, the WiFi 6 gateway lineup includes multi-platform CAF solution support, and the latest in wireless expansion with technologies like Wave 2 G.hn Powerline and a Wireless extender option with mesh-enhanced capabilities. Comtrend currently has the A/VDSL (VR-3071) and Fiber-Ready Ethernet (PRT-6301) WiFi 6 gateways available for sampling. Additional Fiber-Ready and A/VDSL Bonded versions will be coming soon.
