Chuo Spring Co. Ltd. built a cold-processing facility at the Fujioka Plant (Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture) that will introduce heat treatment more efficient than conventional heat-processing, with the aim of contributing to a low-carbon society as part of its production process reforms. Conventional processing of springs for suspensions and stabilizers mainly involves heating in furnaces using gas and kerosene, but the company is shifting to more efficient electrical heat treatment using high frequencies. In the forming process of shapes, the company is shifting from hot forming process to cold forming process without heating.
