CHINA SHENHUA ENERGY COMPANY LIMITED On September 15, after two years preparation, the first intelligent longwall face in Cuncaota Coal Mine of Shendong Coal was officially put into operation. Aimed at downsizing operators to three, the intelligent working face lays a solid foundation for the development of an advanced smart demonstration coal mine with "100 miners working underground".
The core of the working face lies in the adoption of China's first set of gigabit "networked" hydraulic roof support electronic control system and the automatic straightening technology of the shearer and the realization of intelligent mining through shearer memory for cutting coal, hydraulic roof support machine following, and remote centralized control. The electronic control system of hydraulic roof support is equipped with a gigabit network controller, with a theoretical transmission rate of 1000Mbps, which has reached the world-class level in the industry. Every electronic control system is connected with drivers, pressure sensors, displacement sensors, height sensors and other auxiliary equipments. Through the data package of each individual hydraulic roof support, the panoramic imaging of the working face can be realized for real-time following its operation, and the corresponding automatic controls can be carried out via the background system. Meanwhile, the electronic control system is so integrated that one cable can incorporate the video system, personnel positioning system, wireless network system and voice call system into the fully mechanized working face, which improves the communication efficiency and reduces the number of related equipments and cables on the working face and the workload of personnel maintenance. The coal wall curve of the working face can be drawn in real time by using the shearer penetration technology, thus automatically straightening the roof support by data transmission. It is worth mentioning that, in order to ensure the safety of workers, the working face is equipped with a personnel protection system, which ensures that the nearby roof support automatically stops working when workers approach it.
Featuring multiple functions such as automatic straightening of the shearer, personnel protection system, video following the operation of the working face, anti-osmosis water treatment, automatic emulsion proportioning, automatic tensioning and intelligent speed shifting of scraper conveyor, automatic spraying and dust suppression of the working face, remote control of leading roof support, moving of monorail crane, and remote control of the self-moving tail of belt conveyors, the intelligent working face effectively ensures the safe operation of the system. In the next stage, a fully mechanized working face with three persons on duty will be achieved, and efforts will be made towards the ultimate goal of highly intelligent unmanned working face, so as to eliminate the safety hazards of manual intervention in production and explore mature and reliable intelligent technologies for the company and even the entire coal industry in China.
