Dreyfus High Yield Strategies Fund Announces the Addition of Leland Hart as a Primary Portfolio Manager

Dreyfus High Yield Strategies Fund announced that the Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Leland Hart as a primary portfolio manager for the Fund. Mr. Hart will manage the Fund with the Fund's current primary portfolio managers, Chris Barris and Kevin Cronk. Messrs. Barris, Cronk and Hart will be jointly and primarily responsible for managing the Fund's portfolio. The Dreyfus Corporation continues to be the investment adviser for the Fund. Mr. Hart joined Alcentra NY, LLC in January 2018 as Managing Director and Head of U.S. Loans and High Yield. Mr. Barris has been a primary portfolio manager of the Fund since October 28, 2010, and has been a portfolio manager of the Fund and employed by Dreyfus since July 2007. He is Global Head of High Yield and Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Alcentra NY, LLC (Alcentra). Mr. Cronk has been a primary portfolio manager of the Fund since September 2012 and has been a portfolio manager of the Fund and employed by Dreyfus since July 2012. He is a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Credit at Alcentra. Messrs. Barris and Cronk manage the Fund in their capacity of employees of Dreyfus.
BNY Mellon High Yield Strategies Fund (the Fund) is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fundâs primary investment objective is to seek high current income. Under normal market conditions, the Fund invests at least 65% of its total assets in income securities of U.S. issuers rated below investment grade quality or unrated income securities. The Fund primarily seeks high current income. The Fund also seeks capital growth as a secondary objective, to the extent consistent with its objective of seeking high current income. The Fund invests primarily in fixed-income securities of below investment grade credit quality. Issuers of below-investment-grade securities may include companies in early stages of development and companies with a highly leveraged financial structure. The Fund may invest up to 10% of its total assets in floating-rate loans. The Fundâs advisor is BNY Mellon Investment Adviser, Inc. and the sub-advisor is Alcentra NY, LLC.
